Associated with the window project manager we have the project type file (*.OPJ).This ASCII file keeps the logical connection to a “design” (*.DSN) type file and other associated resources. The design file, receivin the same name as the project, may contain several schematic folders which may contain several schematic pages. A design file contains the so called Design Cache, a local library containing copies of all the symbols used in pages with design schematics. We may so use design file son different computers though the libraries are not up-to-date.
When starting a new project ,the design file contains only one schematic page called PAGE1 and in Design Cache there is a single element Title Block the drawing pointer associated to the page.
When the New Project window appears one introduces the project’s name. Then the type of the project is chosen. No electric scheme simulation being required one can choose PC Board Wizard or Schematic , the differences in project’s structure being unsignificant between the two options. After writing the working director, and confirmed with OK the dialogue from the newly opened windows cancelling other options,of simulation or adding of libraries. At the end , the project manager window shows up as in figure 1.2. After creating the project the names of the project or design files might be changed or folder or schematic pages naming.
Editing begins by double clicking the schematic page we wish or by page selection and with the right mouse button opening pop-up menu and selecting Edit Page. The schematic editor window containing a frame and the respective pointer is opened .
