Photo-plotters are of two types:
· Vector Photo-plotter (generally with usual source light) - ADMAP, ARISTO, QUEST.
· Laser Photo-plotter - LASERGRAPH (Hungary), GERBER, ITEX.
There are two types of plotting:
·FLASH
· DRAW
At the old types of photo-plotters, the aperture disk was a physical one.
Disadvantages:
- Too much time for plotting (8 hours for A4).
- Limited numbers of apertures (generally 24).
- Limited number of apertures size.
- For unsymmetrical pads rounded plotting requires a new aperture.
Advantages:
- The flash plotting was perfect due to physical disk.
- Eliminating digitization by a convenient realizing of plotted areas.
