An other very good solution is eliminating the characteristic impedance mismatch by modification of trace width after the branch. For instance, having a trace impedance of 50 ohms before the discontinuity, the designer can double the impedance of the secondary arms after the branch and the trouble will disappear (figure 6). The techniques of changing the track impedance are well known and are offered by numerous authors.
